More website emissions

I am continuing to update the prototype for IOA site 2.0 that will replace the current site this summer. I have changed the banner. I tried to make two new versions of the IOA site banner in Photoshop with one of my own photos. I think it looks good for a first try. If you read this, let me know what you think.

Lasik eye surgery and iJustine.

One the people I follow on Twitter is Justine Ezarik (aka iJustine). I really only bring this up because of a general question she asked of her Twitter followers regarding their experience with Lasik eye surgery and her desire to undergo it. I felt it was necessary to share some of my wisdom, in 160 characters:

“@ijustine On the surface, having a powerful laser blasted into your cornea doesn’t seem like an effective or wise treatment for bad eyesight”

Granted, it was rude but pithy. I do not believe Lasik eye surgery is a good idea unless you are mortally allergic to both eyeglasses and contact lenses.

So, if anybody reads this post and is considering the procedure, I would advise against it. I understand that I do not possess any medical training. It just does not seem like a good idea to me.

I'm on Twitter!

I’ve started Twittering tonight and I have to say it is fun. Leo Laporte and Amber MacArthur, on an episode of net@nite, said it was almost therapeutic. I have to agree. It’s fun to just spontaneously share what I’m doing. So, twitter=fun. Memorize it! Visit me on Twitter!

Should I get a Twitter account?

I’m just wondering and I would appreciate any advice you could offer about this. Should I get a Twitter account? You know what, I have been debating this for weeks, it’s free, and I can quit whenever I want. Screw it, I’m just going to do it.

Life is good

I am probably going to jinx it, but life is going pretty well for me. I feel comfortable in all of my classes. I am keeping up with assignments. I am even thinking as far ahead as Grad school. Then I Instant Messaged with Elizabeth, a friend of mine from high school. I won’t go into details, but things in her life look pretty dire. I don’t just feel like I have accomplished stuff, but I feel lucky that I live in an environment where I don’t have to worry too much about money.
