It's official!

WordPress is now my official personal blog. I used to have one on iWeb, but that went out the window when I let my .Mac account expire. Tonight, I have announced that I will no longer be updating my Blogger account. However, it will remain online. WordPress, in my opinion, is just a nicer service with nicer templates and more room for enhancement. Yay!

Now I just need to figure out a better name for my blog…

Don't punch the monkey

I am now on my third title for this blog: “Punch the Monkey.” Don’t punch the monkey. Don’t go around the internet clicking on stuff. That’s stuff like ads and popups. By indiscriminately clicking on various on-screen items, you are walking into a world of hurt. Just don’t do it. You are giving away information about yourself without realizing it or inviting some malicious, prickish piece of software onto your system. I will sum this statement up with the following sentence, and please forgive me for shouting.

DON’T PUNCH THE MONKEY!!!!!

How to behave on the internet

This is a video from Videojug. It is highly hilarious and pointed. Watch all the way through!

Atheists in Foxholes

When I found this poem, I knew I had to share it with people. I hope you enjoy it. This poem can be found at http://www.ffrf.org/foxholes/. I like the Freedom From Religion Foundation and all the work they do. Thank you for reading.

Atheists in Foxholes

“Atheists in foxholes, some say they are myths,
Creations of the mind who just don’t exist.

Yet, they answered the call to defend, with great pride.
With reason their watchword, they bled and they died.

They took Saratoga from the British crown,
Secured America’s freedom at the Battle of Yorktown.

From Sumter to Appomattox, fields flowed with their blood.
When the cannons grew silent, the flag proudly stood.

From the Marne to the Argonne, in trenches and tanks,
They defeated the Germans — the whole world gave thanks.

They were bombed at Pearl Harbor, fought on to Berlin.
Many freethinking women served along with the men.

Still war keeps erupting — Iraq, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
Where is the peace that eludes people so?

It is broken by tyrants who bear crosses and creeds,
That overshadow reason with hate and cruel deeds.

So atheists prevail until your work is complete.
Mothers mourn, children cry, and bigots plan your defeat.

By air, land, and sea, you answer freedom’s call.
Without god or faith, you seek liberty for all.”

I like WordPress

I have three blogs right now. There is this one, which I consider a personal blog. I also have two others on Blogger. One is a personal blog and the other one is for school. I am seriously considering abandoning my personal Blogger blog. WordPress is much more polished and has better editing tools. It’s just easier to use and customize. If I do decide to move away from Blogger, I will make sure to write a post there notifying my two readers of the transition. But for now, I really like WordPress!

Racing Season 2008

I have agreed to maintain the website for the Indiana Outboard Association this year, and probably even beyond that. I still intend to perform that duty. However, I am beginning to wonder if I will actually race next year. I would still like to go, but I may not actually race this summer. Racing is costly, it is exhausting, and it gives me one more thing to stress over. Then again, when I win, it becomes a great deal of fun again. However, I will probably take on a job this summer and I may not have time to do maintenance on my boat. I am considering simply going to races, either with my dad or on my own. When I get there, I can focus on helping him race, help the club set up and tear down, and mainly to get photos, lots and lots of photos. Who knows what will happen? I was planning on repainting my boat and fixing some damage done during testing in the fall. I do not know if I will have the time or money for either of these. Oh, well. We shall see.
